A meal is on offer, in support of Christian Aid, on Thursday 13th September @ 7.30pm in St Mary’s Church Centre. 2 Courses, with coffee: tickets £12, available from Derek and Alison – contact details can be found in Fiveways; bring your own wine. Please contact Derek and Alison 01823 431698 to book a place. Derek and Alison say: we have only sold half the tickets for this meal. The organisation, Christian Aid, have informed us that they have a special Harvest Appeal with 4:1 match funding from the EU, i.e. every £1 donated is worth £5! Last year we raised in excess of £500 and, if we could do the same again, it would be worth over £2,500 this year. So you can see it is important that we sell all the tickets. The Church Centre capacity is 42. Fiona Daborn, who came to speak at the first two of these events before she moved to another post, is coming to give a short presentation after the meal – she lives in Dorset, so it would be good to have a full hall particularly when she has come so far! If you have already booked your tickets, perhaps think about bringing a friend or neighbour …
On the 2nd Monday of each month, a Julian Group will meet. A Julian Group meet in the Quiet Room of the Church Centre for a form of contemplative prayer and meditation using an extended period of silence (around 30 minutes).

On the 4th Monday of each month, the Prayer Group will meet in the Quiet Room of the Church Centre, for approximately thirty minutes, to pray for the life and work of St Mary’s Church and the wider community.
